Accessibility

As part of our Wellness Equity portfolio, the USC aims to create a community in which all students have the tools they require to make the best of their undergraduate experience. Our portfolio includes doing outreach work to learn more about the specific needs of students with disabilities on campus, and addressing them as they arise.

About us

What we do

Throughout the year we run several events to raise awareness about issues of accessibility on campus, and advocate for those issues within student government. In addition, we will run a few support groups for students who wish to discuss their experiences on campus. The student experience is incredibly important to us, and we aim to contribute to making campus as accessible and inclusive as possible!
Our service also provides mobile support to events that happen around Western University’s campus during regular operating hours.

Attend a Virtual Meeting Through Zoom

Attention to all Western students with disabilities!
  • Do you have any accessibility questions or concerns?
  • Are you facing any barriers with your online courses?
  • Would you like to speak to other people that may be experiencing similar situations as you are?
If you’ve answered yes to any of the above then this event is for you!
Starting  October 14th at 7pm, we will be having biweekly Peer Discussion Groups where we will be providing a safe place and platform for students with disabilities to voice any concerns or questions they may have. We’ll have a facilitator present at these meetings to facilitate as well as prepare topics in advance to get the conversation started. The goal of these meetings is for the USC Accessibility to actively listen and create solutions based on concerns or suggestions from the students themselves.
The Zoom link for this meeting can be found here: https://westernuniversity.zoom.us/j/7582822426
If you require accommodations or if you have any additional questions, please email us at accessibility@westernusc.ca. You may also use the following link to submit any inquiries you may have if you wish to remain anonymous.
