Position Summary: An event coordinator role will give you the opportunity to make a real, tangible impact on Peer Support Centre volunteers and on campus as a whole through monthly initiatives and events. We are looking for individuals that show strong initiative and feel passionately about contributing to the overall well-being of Western students. The roles and responsibilities of an Event Coordinator of the Peer Support Centre are as follows:
  • Work under VP Events to assist in the planning, organizing, and execution of all internal and external events.
  • Attend all executive meetings and contribute creatively to discussions.
  • Collaborate positively with the other members of the Events executive team
  • Approximate Time Commitment: 1-3 hours per week

Gazette’s Publications Committee: The Gazette’s Publications Committee is looking for one (1) Western University undergraduate student to join the committee for a two-year term, starting January 2025. For this role, you must have no current relationship with either the USC or The Gazette. The Publications Committee guides long-term and strategic planning for the Gazette and serves in an advisory capacity for the student editorial team. As the student-at-large member, the time commitment is minimal and the member will be expected to attend a meeting approximately once every month. The committee consists of the Gazette’s managers, journalism professionals, a Board of Directors representative, and USC representatives. It is a subcommittee of the University Students’ Council's Board of Directors.   About The Gazette: For 117 years, the Gazette has been keeping a watchful eye on our campus. We investigate important student issues – mental health, food insecurity and provincial policies – to keep students informed. And we explore the latest fads, technology and sports to keep our campus entertained. This place has been a training ground for Western students who’ve gone on to professional careers in journalism, public relations, communications and even photography. Productions Crew: The University Students’ Council at Western University is seeking Western students for part-time employment. The USC Productions Crew has the opportunity to directly impact student life and engagement at the University Students’ Council at Western University by participating in the execution of small- and large-scale events and programming. This position will allow for a direct impact on the enhancement of USC’s diverse range of operations.
