Trust Overview: All eligible full-time, undergraduate students at Western are automatically enrolled as members to both the USC Health and Dental plans. This coverage is specifically designed to supplement provincial health care and meet students’ needs. Purple Care develops the insurance plan, which includes health, dental, and travel benefits so students can focus on being a student and leave the stress of health coverage to us. PurpleCare Trustee: The Student at Large Trustee position for the University Students’ Council Health and Wellness Trust Fund is a multifaceted position that requires the use of many skills. At the forefront you are a fiduciary of the Trust Fund, responsible for the oversight and compliance of the Trust and all of its services providers including the consultant, administrators, insurers, auditors and legal counsel. This oversight and compliance involves the development, monitoring and adhering to the values, goals and strategy of the Trust Fund. Training:  In person training will be provided in Toronto on Saturday June 15th. This training is mandatory, and will help you get settled in this role and assist you in meeting your fiduciary responsibility as a Trustee. Social Media Food & Beverage Intern: The F&B Social Media Intern, under the direction of the Senior Manager of Hospitality Services will focus on the development of engaging campaigns and creative content for our hospitality department. The F&B Social Media Intern will engage our students through the Wave and Spoke digital media channels, with the purpose of increased customer counts, event attendance and customer loyalty. In addition to the digital channels, this role will be responsible for the creation of physical advertising assets including posters and digital content for posting on our social media channels. This role will work closely with our creative department, when additional resources for graphics, photography and videography are required for larger campaigns. The F&B Social Media Intern will establish restaurant brand positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments. They will lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. This role will participate in content creation, social media posting and scheduling. In addition, they will monitor and update content on our website and build a database of website club subscribers for the purpose of text and email marketing which will focus on special offers, promotions and secret menus. The goal of this position is to grow customer engagement driving increased customer visits to the Spoke and the Wave, solicit customer feedback and build subscribers to our social media accounts and website. About the Intern Program: The USC is excited to be offering 7 full time internship roles beginning in June, 2024. These various roles will span different departments and will give all Interns an opportunity to work on projects in their respective areas, while contributing to improving the student experience for other Western students. Web Development Intern: The Web Development Intern will engage USC stakeholders to ensure our web content is relevant, up-to-date, and visually appealing. Additionally, this position will be responsible for creating images, choosing styles, and developing page layout templates for web campaigns. The Intern will work closely with USC Clubs and Faculty Councils to provide ecommerce support for their events and products.
