Trust Overview:
All eligible full-time, undergraduate students at Western are automatically enrolled as members to both the USC Health and Dental plans. This coverage is specifically designed to supplement provincial health care and meet students’ needs. Purple Care develops the insurance plan, which includes health, dental, and travel benefits so students can focus on being a student and leave the stress of health coverage to us.

PurpleCare Trustee:
The Student at Large Trustee position for the University Students’ Council Health and Wellness Trust Fund is a multifaceted position that requires the use of many skills. At the forefront you are a fiduciary of the Trust Fund, responsible for the oversight and compliance of the Trust and all of its services providers including the consultant, administrators, insurers, auditors and legal counsel. This oversight and compliance involves the development, monitoring and adhering to the values, goals and strategy of the Trust Fund.

We are currently looking for 5 students at large to join the PurpleCare Trust as Student Trustees, for the 2025-2026 year. The Student at Large Trustee position for the University Students’ Council Health and Wellness Trust Fund is a multifaceted position that requires the use of many skills. At the forefront you are a fiduciary of the Trust Fund, responsible for the oversight and compliance of the Trust and all of its services providers including the consultant, administrators, insurers, auditors and legal counsel.

Please note that the responsibilities for this position include: Risk Management, Policy Development, Plan Management, Oversight and Compliance as well as attending several meetings. This a volunteer position and requires roughly 2-4 hours per month.

Both the written and interview portions need to be complete and submitted by the 11PM deadline on January 20th in order to be considered.
