Position Summary:
The Faculty Head Soph is responsible for providing a robust academic and social transition with their Faculty Soph Team, Affiliated Faculty Council, and Undergraduate Affairs/Dean’s Office for new students during Orientation Week and throughout the academic year. The Faculty Head Soph will work closely with LST and the Vice President Student Support & Programming to fulfill their duties and help support other general Orientation initiatives.
A Faculty Programming Assistant (PA) is responsible for assisting their Faculty Head Soph with the planning and execution of their Soph Team’s programming during Orientation Week and beyond. The Programming Assistant works with their Soph Team, Faculty Council, and Associate Dean’s Office, to provide ongoing transitional support to new students with social activities and academic support throughout the academic year.
*Head Sophs and Programming Assistants(PA) positions will be posted concurrently. Applicants are allowed to select both positions so they will be considered for PA if they are unsuccessful with their Head Soph application.
Qualifications:
-Must be dutifully enrolled as an undergraduate student registered at Western University for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 academic year.
-Previous experience with Orientation is preferred, but not required to apply for this position.
