About us

The Peer Support Centre is a safe space on campus that provides non-judgemental, non-professional, confidential support from trained peers. Through fostering openness and understanding, the centre can provide a listening ear, resources of all kinds, or any wellness needs.  The Peer Support Centre values an inclusive and accessible environment for all students to prioritize their wellbeing.

The Peer Support Centre offers both in person and virtual support.

To access in person services, we are open from 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday in UCC Room 40 (The Nest) during the academic year.

Additionally, Peer Support offers mobile support. If you would like Peer Support Volunteers to attend your event, please contact associate.peersupport@westernusc.ca

Hours of Operation

The centre is located in the University Community Centre’s lower level, in Room UCC 40.

The centre is open every week Monday – Friday, 10:00AM – 4:00PM during the academic year.

In the evening, the centre facilitates discussion groups.

Discover our Peer Support Centre’s comprehensive collection of online resources dedicated to enhancing your well-being across the eight dimensions of wellness. Explore and access valuable tools that empower you to cultivate a balanced and fulfilling life.

Volunteering

We hire student volunteers who are passionate about helping others. Hiring typically occurs throughout the summer, prior to the beginning of the Fall semester. Successful applicants will undergo training that equips them with proper support skills.

If the PSC is seeking new volunteers, or if any executive opportunities arise, they will be posted on the USC “Get Involved” page, as well as the Peer Support Centre Instagram (@uscpeersupport) and Facebook (USC Peer Support at Western University).

Who We Are

Our centre is staffed by Western students who are passionate about helping those in their community. All volunteers are trained in the model of peer-based support and undergo continuous training and supervision with our staff supervisors throughout the year.
