Vice President Student Engagement 2026/2027

Azaad Gill (he/him)

About

Role

Azaad Gill is the Vice President Student Engagement and serves as a primary strategic link between students and the USC, ensuring that their voices actively shape the organization’s decisions, programming, and advocacy. Azaad and his portfolio work to create meaningful avenues for students to consult, connect, and collaborate with the USC.

Azaad is a dual-degree graduate from Western University with an Honours in Business Administration (HBA) with Distinction from the Ivey Business School alongside an Honours Specialization in Political Science. A cornerstone of the Western student community, Azaad was a four-time Soph, mostly recently the Saugeen Head Soph and recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to the Orientation Program (Best Residence Soph) award; was Co-President of the Political Science Association, and VP Finance for the Ivey Consulting Club, and served as a three-time USC Coordinator.

Azaad has worked as an Internal Consultant in Business Improvement for the City of Calgary’s Emergency Management and Community Safety (EMCS) department and as a Market Research Analyst for TEC Canada. A champion for public safety and civic duty, Azaad successfully lobbied city hall through a pedestrian safety advocacy campaign, which earned him the City of Calgary Youth Community Achievement Award (Youth of the Year), and his leadership has been further recognized by the Government of Alberta with the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Citizenship Award and the Premier’s Citizenship Award.

While initially set to join a Big 4 consulting firm in Calgary, Azaad’s deep passion for the Western student community led him to staying in Ontario and completing his tenure at the USC. Looking ahead, he hopes to launch a career in Business Consulting in Toronto, where he intends to leverage his dual expertise in corporate operations and public policy.

Originally from Calgary and an only child, Azaad is a self-proclaimed foodie and a massive fan of rollercoasters, board games, and video games (especially anything Mario-related). He loves spending his downtime with his family dog, Mocha (whose legal name is appropriately Mochacino).
