Grants & Recognition Committee: The Grants & Recognition Committee is a body that oversees the distribution of monetary grants to student groups and recognition awards to individual students. Committee Members will work collaboratively with the Grants & Recognition Coordinator and the Vice-President Student Services to facilitate the Grants Program, presiding over its disbursement to clubs and other student groups. Deliberation Committee Member (6-8): Review applications for grant applications and student award applications, actively engage in weekly committee meetings moderated by the Grants and Recognition Coordinator, presenting reasonings to collectively reach a decision on grant applications and student award applications, upholds strict standards of impartiality, equity, and procedural integrity to ensure student funds are allocated responsibly and transparently, assist with planning and execution of the annual student award gala, assist with creation and implementation of promotional material to promote the grant fund or student events.   Apply Here   Full Position Description (PDF) Applications due: WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2025 by 11:59 PM.   Contact: Brandon Leung, Grants and Recognition Coordinator grantsandrecognition@westernusc.ca

Student Engagement First Year Rep Program:
The USC is seeking engaged first-year students to join the Student Engagement First-Year Representative Program. The First-Year Representative Program connects the USC directly with Western’s first-year student community through a network of student representatives. First-Year Representatives serve as a voice for their peers, sharing feedback, perspectives, and ideas about the first-year experience while helping students learn about USC events, services, resources, and opportunities to get involved. Through regular meetings with the Student Engagement team and peer-to-peer outreach within their communities, First-Year Representatives will help identify barriers to student involvement, strengthen connections between first-year students and the USC, and contribute to programming that better reflects the interests and needs of first-year students.
