The Western Sikh Students Association is submitting this WesternLink proposal to request the setup of a USC storefront page to collect donations in support of the One Billion Rising initiative, led by the World Sikh Organization (WSO).
One Billion Rising is a global initiative focused on supporting individuals affected by gender-based violence and those facing difficult and vulnerable circumstances. Through this initiative, Western SSA will prepare and distribute care packages containing essential items to women’s shelters in the London community.
All funds collected through the USC storefront will be used directly to purchase items for these care packages, ensuring that donations have a tangible and immediate impact on women in need.
The preparation of packages will occur on February 7, but the storefront page will need to be set up as soon as possible. We will submit a separate proposal for the actual preparation of the packages, this is just for the setup of the storefront page as it is required.
