Statement on Hyde Park Tragedy

Statement on Hyde Park Tragedy

 June 7, 2021

We are heartbroken by the senseless violence that led to the loss of four members of our London community yesterday. The USC offers our condolences to the family and friends of the victims, and pray for the recovery of the young boy who is still in the hospital.

We are deeply saddened and angered by this despicable act of hate. To the Muslim members of our community – we firmly and unequivocally stand with you and support you. Islamophobia has no place here. We hope to work with students to tackle discrimination and racism in all its forms.

We must lean on one another as we mourn during this difficult time.

We encourage those who need support to reach out to the resources listed below.

USC Health and Wellness

Western University’s Mental Health Services

The USC, Western University, and the City of London offer several different resources which are available to all students. You can review a compiled list here.
