The Web × ISIC Propel Impact Pitch Competition is a high-impact pitch event that challenges students to think like early-stage impact investors. In partnership with Propel Impact, this competition invites teams to identify a real, Ontario-based company that is not currently within Propel’s portfolio and develop a compelling investment thesis for why it should be supported through Propel’s ecosystem.
Participants will analyze the company’s social or environmental mission, financial viability, scalability, and measurable impact potential, and present a strategic recommendation outlining how Propel Impact’s resources, including the Impact Investing Fellowship, could unlock growth and deepen community impact. Teams will propose a structured investment or support strategy, define key performance indicators, and justify their capital ask and milestone roadmap.
The event is designed to simulate a real investment committee experience, blending rigorous financial analysis with systems-level thinking about social innovation. Judges will evaluate teams on impact alignment, strategic clarity, feasibility, and persuasiveness.
This competition aims to strengthen students’ understanding of impact investing, provide hands-on exposure to social venture evaluation, and foster deeper engagement with Ontario’s innovation ecosystem.
