Friends of MSF Group Blood Donation

Friends of MSF Group Blood Donation

The Friends of MSF team is excited to introduce our first humanitarian activity of the semester, a group blood drive! Participants will meet at Alumni Hall, where the Canadian Blood Services’ Lifebus will pick up everyone for transport to the Canadian Blood Services clinic, as well as drop them off afterwards. Both club members and motivated students are more than welcome to join! In total, the event will take two hours from pick-up to drop-off.

Around the world, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) administers essential blood transfusions in resource-limited and conflict settings, and additionally organizes local blood drives within refugee camps. In Canada, whole blood donation supplies lifesaving red blood cells, plasma, platelets, cryoprecipitate, and cryosupernatant plasma used for emergency, surgical, or disease-related patient care. Critically, one blood donation has the potential to save three lives. We hope to see you there!!
