USC Health Plan

The University Students’ Council oversees a health insurance plan for all undergraduate students. A portion of your student fees contribute to this coverage, which is especially designed to meet student needs and supplement provincial health care coverage. This insurance is developed and delivered by the Campus Trust, and includes health, dental, and travel benefits.

STUDENT BENEFITS

OPTING OUT

Students who are covered under an equivalent extended benefit health care plan (in addition to your standard provincial coverage) may choose to “opt-out” of the USC plan. This typically applies to students who have previous and continuing health insurance coverage provided by a parent or guardian. If you choose to opt-out, the fee will be reimbursed and credited to your online Western student services account.

NOTE: The Opt-out period has ended for 2016/17. Opt out was available from July 1st, 2016 to September 30th, 2016 at 11:30pm

To opt-out, proof of alternative coverage is required. If you have questions or concerns, you may contact the USC’s Plan Administrator at njoyce2@uwo.ca or visit Mustang Central in the University Community Centre.
