Grants Committee:

University Students’ Council of the University of Western Ontario is seeking undergraduate students interested in supporting our Grants and Recognition Committee as “students-at-large.” We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic and passionate about supporting student initiatives and recognizing outstanding campus leaders. If this sounds like you please fill out the Google Form below by Sunday September 24th at 11:59pm. Only those deemed qualified will receive notification of interview. Interviews will begin to be held late September and may be in-person or virtual.

The USC Grants and Recognition Committee was established to preside over the disbursement of the Grant Fund, which was initiated by referendum by students in the 2010-2011 school year. The Grants and Recognition Committee is chaired by the Grants and Recognition Coordinator and is made up of six student-at-large members that decide and evaluate the merit of submitted grant applications in order to improve the student experience at Western University. Additionally the Grants and Recognition Committee are responsible for evaluating student recognition through submitted applications and therefore dispersing the USC Recognition fund accordingly.

A Grants and Recognition Committee member will be expected to attend weekly meetings and potential training sessions outside of the meeting schedule. On average, a Grants and Recognition Committee member should be expected to dedicate 2-3 hours a week, and during times with higher volumes of applications, up to 4-5 hours a week.

If you have any questions about any of the available positions, please contact Azaad Gill, Grants and Recognition Coordinator at grantsandrecognition@westernusc.ca
