Bike Shop - Bike Rental
Purple Bikes is a non-profit cycling co-operative where anyone and everyone can access affordable DIY repairs, bicycle rentals, advice, and training.
The Purple Bikes workshop operates with the principle of do-it-yourself. We provide the tools and mechanical instruction for members of the London community to repair their bicycle. Our volunteer mechanics will advise you on how to perform your own repairs. No mechanical experience is necessary, only the willingness to get your hands dirty! We also sell new and used bike parts at competitive prices. So whether you need to change a flat tire or overhaul your whole bike, Purple Bikes Workshop is here for you!
Membership allows you to use our tools, expertise of volunteers, attend workshops and group rides for its duration
1 month membership – $10
We offer two tiers of rentals
All bikes are lent with a helmet, light and U-lock. We have a selection of road, mountain, and hybrid bikes.
These bikes will get you around town and campus efficiently and at affordable rates
Deposits refunded upon return of rental equipment. [Please beware that deposits for month rentals are required to be picked up from a separate location (room 340) in the USC because we are only allowed to keep a certain of money in the shop. The location is open 8:30 to 4:30 so please plan accordingly. ]
Please keep in mind that we are a cash only establishment.
We are always looking for volunteers to join us. Drop by the shop during our hours and start wrenching! We encourage people eager to learn more about bikes to come in and volunteer. Fixing up donated and participants’ bikes is a great way to gain experience and there will always be someone knowledgeable around to offer advice and assistance. We will provide training if you have no prior experience.
We aim to make bicycles more financially accessible to promote sustainable transportation in London. We will gladly accept any donations of bikes, bike parts, tools, or other cool bike related things.
We are located on the first floor of the UCC in room UCC 149. This is down the hallway towards Western Road from the UCC Atrium (start at Booster Juice and walk west down the hallway running the length of the Mustang Lounge (Mustang Lounge will be on your right).
