The Early Outreach Conference (Reach) is a USC run conference that takes place every May for youth in the city of London and Middlesex County. Reach recognizes that many students decide their future educational pathways at an early age and hopes to provide the youth with information and tools to help them make well-informed decisions. The organization works with the local school boards to identify schools that have been deemed to have a higher population of students that may deem post-secondary education out of their reach. The Early Outreach Executive team works from October 2019 until May 2020 to plan, organize and implement a 3-day conference that takes place on May 8th – 10th. The Executive team along with a team consisting of approximately 65 university students act as leaders for the grade 7 & 8 participants. They learn about the different opportunities they can pursue for future education and receive guidance and motivation from both Western University students and professors.
