The USC Grants Committee was established to preside over the disbursement of the Grant Fund, which was initiated by referendum by students in the 2010-2011 school year. The Grants Committee is chaired by the Grants Coordinator, and is made up of six students-at-large members, who decide and evaluate the merit of submitted grant applications in order to improve the student experience at Western University.
The Grant Fund for the 2020/2021 year is sitting at approximately $100,000 – historically, the Grants Committee has received upwards of 150 applications per year.
A Grants Committee member will be expected to attend weekly meeting, and potential training sessions outside of the meeting schedule. On average, a Grants Committee member should be expected to dedicate 2-3 hours a week.
The following people cannot apply to be on the Grants Committee:
– USC Councilors
– USC Executive (except VP Governance and Finance)
– Board of Directors
– Faculty Executive
