Clubs Governance Board Member Nomination - 2024-2025 The Clubs Governance Board acts as the oversight body that governs the clubs community on campus by enforcing and overseeing policies and procedures that ensure fairness in the clubs culture. The hired Clubs Governance Board (CGB) members play a crucial role in the enforcement and overseeing of the USC’s clubs policies and procedures. Items that may be on meeting agendas include addressing club ratification applications, voting on proposed amendments to club policy and procedure, and holding USC club hearings and sanctions Members of the CGB impact the future of the clubs system by presenting recommendations to adjust clubs policy, ratifying new and prevalent clubs, de-ratify old outdated student groups, and ensuring the longstanding fair reputation of the clubs system is upheld. The CGB is looking for students at large to become the members of the Clubs Governance Board. USC-ratified club executives cannot be a CGB member. Productions Crew: The University Students’ Council at Western University is seeking Western students for part-time employment. The USC Productions Crew has the opportunity to directly impact student life and engagement at the University Students’ Council at Western University by participating in the execution of small- and large-scale events and programming. This position will allow for a direct impact on the enhancement of USC’s diverse range of operations. Reporting to the Productions Manager, the Productions Crew is responsible for providing hands-on support and staffing for events and initiatives undertaken by the USC. Program Overview: The Deputy Speaker of Council (DSC) is responsible for assisting the Speaker in ensuring the rules of Council are upheld, and that each Councillor is treated equally and fairly. The DSC reports directly to the Speaker of Council. A successful candidate will have a strong interest in student government as well as policies and procedures. They must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to adapt to different situations as well as strong interpersonal skills. Students with experience as a camp counsellor, lifeguard, or similar role may be a good fit for this role.
