Ally Western Network Coordinator

Ally Western is an outreach service, constantly working to create a more inclusive university campus, with a focus on understanding and celebrating sexual diversity. It is a sister service to PrideWestern, seeking to empower those at Western who identify as Allies by providing the resources and support required for students to be strong, effective, visible advocates for LGBT people. Anyone can be an ally at Western, and all students are encouraged to visit the Support Services Centre in room 38 of the University Community Centre to pick up their own Ally Western starter kit, which includes a pin, Ally necklace, and safe space card, and help create a more accepting and inclusive life for others on campus.

The Commissioner at Large for the Campus Issues portfolio performs various duties relating to all aspects of the Campus Issues portfolio, at the discretion of the VP – Campus Issues.
EnviroWestern Coordinator

The EnviroWestern Coordinator focuses on environmental issues and the maintenance and improvement of recycling rates on campus. They also organize environmental awareness programming, and act as a liaison between the USC and the University’s Green Plan.
Ethnocultural Support Service Coordinator

The Multicultural Students Commissioner reports to the Vice-President Campus Issues and liaises with the Vice-President University Affairs on municipal, provincial, and federal governments, and promotes the equality of students, regardless of cultural or ethnic background.
Food Support Service Coordinator

The Food Support Service Coordinator oversees intake of food donations, distribution of food hampers, and the overall quality of inventory. She is also responsible for maintaining cooperation and communication with community partners, such as the London Food Bank, Grocery Checkout and Mission Services London to ensure that we can best accommodate every students’ needs. The Coordinator must also uphold the confidentiality of the service and its users.
Health and Wellness Support Service
I Know Someone Coordinator

The I Know Someone Coordinator oversees a campaign, which works to educate the University community on the paradigm of sexual violence, and works to reduce incidents of sexual violence on our campus by creating a safer environment. She must oversee the development of workshops for faculty, staff and students, and hold regular awareness programs on preventing sexual violence. She must also liaise with the services’ community partners, the Sexual Assault Center of London, and Changing Ways.
PrideWestern Coordinator

The PrideWestern Commissioner promotes, in cooperation with all appropriate University and USC clubs, groups, and services; the equal treatment, understanding and acceptance of people of all sexual orientations on the University campus. They provide the USC and the student population with information about discrimination and harassment on the basis of sexual orientation by conducting informative programming and organizing Pride Festival. Moreover, they liaise with gay, lesbian and bisexual organizations within the London community.
